Hi there, I’m Liz!
I’m curious about people and I enjoy solving problems.
When I moved into Human-Centred Design I felt like I found a home in a place I never knew existed. HCD allows me to draw on my existing research and insight skills while exploring new ways of doing things, challenging myself to learn new skills and, solving for more complex problems.
I believe that by taking a step back and really understanding people’s needs we can help make the world a more welcoming, inclusive, and accessible place.
With 5+ years experience in Customer Experience and Service Design, and 15+ years in research and insights, I object to being described as an expert. Sure, I know a lot but so do a lot of other people. Plus, I truly value keeping a beginners mind and that doesn’t fit with the “expert” label.
But what about me as a human?
My passion for fitness and wellbeing led me to group fitness. After teaching Les Mills classes for 8 years I hung up my head mic and found triathlon – I’ve been swimming, cycling and running ever since.
As a trained Life Coach and breathwork meditation facilitator I help people to live their lives rather than just existing.
I enjoy spending the rest of my time being outside, cooking, reading or writing – I’ve recently started sharing some of my writing on Medium.
Based in Melbourne, Australia I am lucky enough to also be able to work in the UK, the EU (even post-Brexit) and New Zealand.
I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands and waterways in which I work.
I pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging.
